Indian Law Society
The Indian Law Society was started in 1923 as a public charitable trust registered under the Societies Registration Act. The Indian Law Society founded the Law College in 1924, which has since then initiated itself as a leading institute for legal studies in India. In 2004, the ILS Law College was accredited the A+ level by NAAC.
Set amidst a sprawling green campus in the heart of Pune, it provides students a holistic environment that encourages exposure to social, cultural, and physical activities that complement the top-of-the-class legal education imparted by the college.
Student placements for the last few years have been over 90%, making ILS the most favored destination for legal education in India. Though the ILS Law College draws the most talented students from all over India, the members of the society believe in retaining a healthy diversity in the campus - it ensures that students from different cultures and economic and social backgrounds are given a fair opportunity to enroll for courses.
The college encourages students to supplement their comprehensive degree courses with specialized diplomas in newly emerging fields of law.
