Since decades, MBA department of Pune University has been functional with the objective of grooming prospective managers from diverse streams and various professional backgrounds throughout the world. Each year, PUMBA also witnesses students not only from all parts of the country, but also from countries particularly, Iran, Thailand, Nepal, Korea and Bangladesh.

Admission to the institute is by the Maharashtra-Common Entrance Test conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Maharashtra.

As one of the premier B- schools of Maharashtra, top 1% of the successful students seek admission to PUMBA. According to a recent survey conducted by IMS, MBA aspirants have rated PUMBA as the third most preferred B-school in India.

The Dual-Specialization provides students with an edge. Being a department of the University, students also benefit from have access to other University departments like media, psychology, economics, music, and foreign languages.

Admission process:

Admission process for the MBA course to Pune University MBA course is conducted by the directorate of technical education. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) score is considered for admission. The written test is happened in February and group discussion and personal interviews are conducted in June or July by DTE. 

The Total marks are 240 and the distribution is as follows:

Written Test for 200 marks.

Group Discussion for 17 marks.

Personal Interview for 17 marks.  

Academic record for 4 marks.

Work experience for 2 marks. 

CET is a 2 hour paper total of 200 questions. Each question paper carries 1 mark and no negative marking.

It tests the following areas:

1. Reading and Comprehension,
2. Quantitative Ability, 
3. Visual Reasoning
4. Data Interpretation.
