Conditions for the admission & information on forms to be filled before entrance:
1. The selection for MBBS is on the basis of the merit obtained by them in the All India Common Entrance Test (CET)
2. Cet Application Forms: Acandidate desirous of appearing in the CET is required to complete theprescribed application form available from the University offices and submitthe same to the University, on or before the scheduled dates.
3. Cet Examination (CET): This exam will be conducted on designated dates at the examination centers in the following cities: Pune, Navi Mumbai, Hyderabad, New Delhi, Vadodara (Baroda)Indore and Cochin. The exact location and address of the Examination Centre will be communicated to the candidate through his admission card.
4. Merit List: The University will prepare a merit list of the candidates appeared for CET in accordance with the total marks obtained by them in Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology taken together in the CET exam.
5. Counsling AndOn-The-Spot-Admission Session:The counseling sessions will be conducted at Bharati Vidyapeeth University Medical College, Katraj - Dhankawadi, Pune - 411 043 as per the schedule given in the application brochure. Failure to report for counseling on the scheduled date and time will result in instantaneous cancellation of a claim of the candidate to acquire admission. It shall be the candidate's responsibility to see the result of CET which will be available at the University offices and to get full information on admission scenario.

Admission Procedure in MBBS:
- 1. The course commences in the month of August. Advertisements for recruitment appear in the leading newspapers of the country in the month of December every year, for MBBS course. Candidates are required to submit their application forms in the prescribed format, along with other necessary documents mentioned therein.
- The AFMC is affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Science, Nashik and is recognised by the Medical Council of India.
- Admission to MBBS course is based on written examination. The written examination is held on 1st Sunday of May. Successful candidates are called for interview in June for the courses starting in July. Admissions are subject to medical fitness.
Course Duration: The duration of MBBS courseis four and a half year followed by internship of one year. Service Liability:
Students have compulsory liability to serve as Commissioned Officers in the Armed Forces Medical Services. The offer of the type of commission will depend on the vacancies available. The candidates’ parents/guardians are required to sign a bond agreement at the time of admission.
Eligibility and qualifications to Appear in the entrance examination general:
A candidate seeking admissionto the MBBS course is eligible to take the entrance examination if he/shefulfills the following criteria:
- A candidate should be a citizen of India or be a subject of Nepal or Bhutan or a person of Indian origin migrated from Pakistan or any other foreign country with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- Must be unmarried. Marrying during the course is not permitted.
- Should be medically fit as per prescribed standards by the Govt. of India, Ministry of Defense.
- Must have attained the age of17yrs on 31st Dec of the year of application, but must not have attained the age of 22 years on the prescribed date (Not more than 24 years in case of candidates who have passed or are appearing in final B Sc examinations).
Academic Qualifications:
Candidates must have passed all the subjects opted for in the first attempt of the qualifying examinations as a regular (course)student with the courses such as, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology and securing not less than 60% of the aggregate marks in these 3 Science subjects taken together and not less than 50% marks in English and 50% marks in each of the science subjects. They must have also passed an examination in Mathematics of the 10th standard.
Post Graduation Courses:
The college is authorized to conduct post graduate courses vide. GOI MOD letter no. 8510/ DGAFMS/ DG-1D/2273/ 2001/ D Med dated 05 Nov 01. The college is recognized by the Medical Council of India for its avid education.

However, the vacancy for the above courses is available to service officers only. However, any unutilized vacancy is available to civilians. The selection for filling these vacancies is based on an entrance examination.
